Owasys obtains the ISO 9001:2000, which endorses its quality management system.
Owasys Advanced Wireless Devices (Owasys) - constituted in the summer of 2002 with the equity holding of its employees coming from Ericsson BTC in Zamudio - has obtained its Quality Management System certification regarding the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.
This certificate was issued yesterday by the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR), six months after beginning the project to obtain it.
Owasys is a company specialized in the design, development, production management, and international commercialization of advanced wireless devices. Since its creation, it has shown interest in quality aspects, considering them a basic factor for development and progress. Fernando Aguirre, a member of the company’s executive committee, indicated that this certification would not have been possible without the commitment and participation of “a hands-on staff in search of excellence”.
In addition, he stated that this achievement at the onset of the company’s presentation and coinciding with the launch of its first products confirms “a complete success regarding all the management processes deployed”.
At this time, the company’s next goal will focus on obtaining the UNE-EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management certificate, which will be integrated in the recently deployed ISO. Simultaneously, starting next fall the company will adopt the model of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) as a reference to steer its efforts and evaluate its progress.
